Coming up with details used to be very difficult for me. Names still are, but that's for another day.
I love details in writing. I may not remember them all later, but when I'm reading the details and they're arranged in a compelling manner, they're my absolute favorites.
As for how I make mine, I focus the most on the person that detail is associated with. What relationship do they have with it? Are they still in the story? If not, why not? This goes double for what people keep in their pockets. Use and convenience are very important.
As I think on this in the future, I'll work to include more details on my details. For now this is a meta-discussion I'm having with myself while still trying to do actual worldbuilding.
